Currently working pro-bono for several organizations (Equine Welfare; Equine Assisted Therapies; and Stallion Pastures). Duties include horse sheperding, learning R+ (positive reinforcement) based training, graphic design, meetings and other tasks.
I went the "usual" route since childhood of riding school and groom, before traveling abroad to learn more about horse training. I have worked and volunteered in Australia (stockhand/jillaroo), New Zealand (apprentice), Hawai'i, USA (apprentice), Italy (volunteer at the Italian Horse Rescue Association), Greece (volunteer), Nepal and Mongolia (volunteer), and attended courses in Denmark (Klaus Hempfling), USA (Ray Hunt) and more.
For the past 4 years I have worked alone as a stallion shepherd in an unfenced 200 square mile National Park, caring for bands of domesticated bachelor stallions. Currently re-learning a better way of interacting with horses, based on positive reinforcement and Equine Welfare Science.
I have studied Human Anatomy, Physiology & Exercise Physiology, Sports Nutrition, Injury Prevention and Practical Strength Training at the Norwegian School of Sports Sciences.
