I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
i have done all the pony club tests up to my C+ but i have not got any other equine qualifications.
I am currently a waitress at Bishopstrow Hotel (4****) i have been working here for two years. The main part of my job is serving customers, serving food, polishing cutlery and glasses.
I have never had a full time job in a professional yard however my sister works at a 4**** event yard so I often stay with her and help with all the general yard work such as mucking out tacking up horses and everything in-between. I also go to a lot of their competitions to help them out with getting the horses ready and unready, collecting numbers, checking times and videoing their rounds.
I am quick at mucking out but also doing a good job of it i am a very clean person so the space in which i am working in i like to keep clean as well, so i always tidy up after my self. I am confident in plaiting up horses both manes and tails and keeping them clean and trimmed, for example pulling manes and tails. I am good at working with lots of horses at once and multitasking. I work well under pressure but keeping everything calm and safe at the same time.
I am experienced in working with young horses as i produced a freshly backed four year old 14'2 Connemara who was later on sold to an Olympic level yard. I currently ride 16'2 ex 4* horse who i was given to bring back into work after just over a year off of work due to injury. I am happy to get on anything from cheeky ponies, youngsters and schoolmasters. i am confident on the flat, jumping, hunting and hacking and i have also done a small amount of polo.
I have competed at Hickstead National championships and have done lots of one day events, showjumping and dressage competitions in my local area. i go to a few major events with a 4* yard and help groom for my sisters boss.
