Duties of current occupation

My main duties in my current position are to carry out the daily management (mucking out/grooming etc) of the yards horses which include youngsters, liveries and competition horses.
I also do the schooling and breaking of clients horses.

Equine work experience

My experience with horses started with helping out at my riding school, leading the younger children and helping the older ones progress, i also lead out many of the treks and also rode out on faster ones taking clients off for a canter etc. This moved onto having my own pony which i showjumped at unaffliated level for two years, when i was 15 i got my current horse which i have competed upto BS 1.10 level , throughout the last four years i have broken and schooled on quite a few horses for people including helping them to get started once they were on board, i produced two horses for sale in 2010 one of which i am still in contact with the owner, in the summer last year i worked for this owner teaching her and schooling her horses aswell as breaking one of her liveries horses, since october i have been working at a breaking and livery yard near plymouth.

Specialities

My specialities are mainly breaking and riding on youngsters both almost unhandled and handled, schooling both on the flat and over fences to improve the horses way of going, mainly towards a showjumping goal.

Type of ride work

i have ridden a large number of horses with varied attitudes, including rather difficult ones, which bucked, reared, napped etc. I have ridden and schooled on ponies and horses ranging from 13hh to 17.2hh and worked with competition horses and average horses with a range of breeding from market horses through to pink papered warmbloods.

Competition details

I have competed through from 2' to 3'6 unaffiliated and from 70cm to 1.10 BSJA
I've competed extensively throughout the west country in the last five years all of which has been BSJA on my current horse, i have attended countless one day shows and alot of 2,3,4,5 day shows, at bicton (SWSJC) ,the hand, and ,colraine.
Much of this time i was competing my own horse and helped groom for my trainer at the time whilst she was jumping.
