Job Description

-To maintain stalls - clean out, put in fresh bedding
-To maintain horses - groom, pick feet, saddle, assist in leading, bathing, hot walking
-To be able to tell when a horse is under some kind of stress and report to the trainer
-To be able to follow a feed schedule set up by the trainer and understand how important to follow schedule
-To perpetuate healthy horses - wraps, watch for anything on horses’ body that is not normal, perform injury reducing things such as icing, rubbing, massage

Requirements

-ability to work around these high-strung horses
-knowledge of anatomy, physiology and nutrition
-ability to detect problems in health and soundness
-ability to react to health problems quickly and possible initial treatment if no vet or trainer is readily available
-knowledge of different types of training equipment and how to tack and adjust to horses requirements-ability to put on different types of bandages and how to properly adjust -dedication to work the early hours in different weat

Required Skills

Equine First-Aid; Handling Youngstock; Bandaging.
