Job Description
Looking for a Stable Manager, for a very busy commercial Trail Rides business in Jasper National Park . The candidate must have worked in a trail riding business before and have some employee mangement experience, Minimum 5 years experience in western riding.
Manage a barn with approximately 60 horses, and supervise a staff of 8 wranglers. . Supervising and training staff to perform daily barn chores, getting rides out in a timely and safe fashion. Helping to organize daily trail rides and activities, and assign horses to riders according to their ability and size.
Prepare work schedules,take phone reservations, and do daily accounting,
Excellent horsemanship experience is required.
Possibility of starting and training young horses in western and english riding if the candidate has the proper qualification. Seasonal position in a tourirst environment, May 17 to October 15, 2012
Requirements
Must be Canadian citizen or have a valid canadian visa/work permit.
Required Skills
Riding; First-Aid; Handling Youngstock; Sole Charge; Starting/Breaking; Natural Horsemanship.

The Facility
Located in Jasper National Park, on the grounds of the Fairmont Jasper
Park Lodge, Skyline Trail Rides is open from May to October- and offer guided trail rides ranging from one hour to 3 day pack trip in the wilderness . The stables have about 60 head of horses and 12 full time employees. You will be working in a busy touristy environment. We also have a Canadian Horse breeding program involving starting colts every summer.
