Job Description

The perfect person will have the following skills: Feeding horses using tractor/bale spear. Knowledge & experience in fencing. Tractor/gear maintenance/ minor repairs. Wood cutting/splitting. Can maintain all kinds of equipment: stable cleaner, lawn mowers, outdoor furnace, chainsaw, manure spreader, arena drag, horse trailer, etc. Maintenance of riding areas. Maintenance of buildings. HOrse handling skills - including foals, young stock. Knowledge of foaling/breeding. Maintenance of property: mowing, snow removal, harrowing, bush hogging, weed whacking, manure spreading

The Facility

We are a riding school and a breeding farm. Between 80 and 100 students take part in a regular riding program, and we foal out around 6 foals per year. Located just east of the city of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada. There are accomodations available for staff.
Other activities on the farm:
- we hold up to 8 competitions per year on the property: EC Gold Dressage, and dressage/hunter schooling.
- during fall, winter & spring we hold many seminars and clinics on differnt topics for the educationof our students
- we hold Equine Canada Rider Level preparation courses as well as exams
- we bring students to Dressage competitions
- training and selling of our young stock
- summer daycamp programs
