Job Description

We have a working student position available immediately.

Job requirements include:
• Knowledge of flatwork
• Jumping experience
• Able to perform general first aid for horses
• Show experience an asset but not required
• Desire to learn more about horses – care of and riding

Job Details:

• Riding – on flat and over fences
• Tacking and grooming of horses at home and shows for trainer
• Setting fences
• Assisting the farrier, veterinarian and instructor
• Some maintenance duties
• General tiding and cleaning of stable
• Some night chores
• Live-in position
• Able to bring your own horse
• Opportunity to go to shows
• Opportunity to be involved in pony club if desired
• Expense allowance


Trainer information:

• Showing “A” Circuit around North America
• Trained with Cheryl Anderson, Jay Duke, Florian Myer zu Harturm, and Suzanna Behring
• Competed hunters, Medals and 1.40m jumpers
• Training up and coming show horses and students

Requirements

Need to have at least basic flatwork skills, confident at the walk, trot and canter.

Required Skills

Riding; Lunging; Bandaging; Clipping; Trim/Pull.

Benefits

Free lessons, a variety of different horses to ride, showing experience, learn how to work with young horses, how to school older horses over fences, experience working around vets and farriers, learn how to teach lessons to younger riders.

The Facility

We are a newer facility with two attached nine stall barns and a separate six stall barn. Our arena is 70' by 200' fully insulated and heated.
