Job Description

Connemara Stud requires cheerful lightweight rider/groom (max 60kg). With experience and confidence lunging, breaking and schooling home bred connemara ponies to prepare for sale.
Experience required with youngstock including stallions.
Must be confident with youngsters, a good rider, capable of breaking and schooling ponies correctly and in an outline, and of of jumping 1.10m tracks. Able to work on own initiative.
Video required of you riding on the flat and jumping please.
Our ponies live out all year but job includes picking up droppings from some paddocks daily (using quad and trailer), general yard work, feeding, grooming and turning out for sales. Possibility to compete for the right rider.
5.5 day week (Generally Saturday afternoon and Sundays off) and temporary contract until end of June 2012.
Able to drive and full licence holder, preferably with own transport..
Non smoker.
Proprietor is BHS II(T) so further training possible.

Ideal opportunity for someone keen to work abroad in a beautiful location in the SW of France for a few months and chance learn or improve your French and gain further experience with youngstock and stallions.

Very nice self catering accomodation provided in s/c chalet in grounds. Use of swimming pool. Electricity and heating covered, plus an allowance for food.

Requirements

Experience with youngsters and lunging/starting, as well as being able to bring on ponies and ride them correctly in an outline.

Accommodation

A chance to live in the beautiful sunny SW of France on a property with a swimming pool and good facilities. Chalet accomodation. 50m2 chalet with mezzanine. Open plan with full height windows overlooking the land. Kitchenette, bathroom with shower.
All Electricity and heating paid, and weekly allowance for food.
