Job Description
Full time head groom needed at Chailey Stud Equestrian Centre in East Sussex to work for international event rider Liz Halliday-Sharp.
*MUST be a capable rider and be able to turn horses out to a high standard
*Ideal candidate will have previous event grooming/competition experience
*HGV license preferred
*Will be taking on the duties of head groom at Chailey Stud Equestrian Centre
*Good riding skills important, and be able to ride a range of horses (including galloping, hacking, light schooling, etc)
* Must be able to work well within a team and oversee the daily running of a competition yard
* Must be a friendly and positive person with a good work ethic and be able to work varied hours, under pressure, and at competitions
*Live in position only. Self contained 1 bedroom flat included.
*Full time position
*Starting wage of £250+ per week for the right person
Requirements
We are looking for someone who can be a leader and take over the running of this busy competition yard. Must be 100% trustworthy and able to work well within a team, sometimes at odd hours with a positive outlook. Must have previous event/competition yard and groom experience and be organised and able to oversee running of the yard. Must be confident working with horses of all different ages, sizes and experience levels. Basic computer skills important.

We purchased the stud in 2010 and have been turning Chailey Stud into one of the finest equestrian facilities in South of England. Friendly people and horses to work with and a chance to travel to events both in the UK and throughout Europe.
The Facility
To work with International Event Rider Liz Halliday-Sharp at the recently renovated Chailey Stud Equestrian Centre. The yard boasts a large indoor structure with 30 Monarch enclosed stables, two solariums, two hot/cold horse wash downs and a massive 60 x 30 metre indoor school, one of the biggest in the South East of England. Outside the barn is a large 6-horse covered walker as well as many other facilities including large outdoor school and cross country jumps. Personal 1 bedroom flat included.
