Job Description
The Holistic Equitation Centre, UK home of Philippe Karl's School of Lightness, is looking for a volunteer working student to join our team in Feb or March 2012. Duties will include looking after horses, maintaining the yard and helping with riding lessons, horse training, rehab and development of horses' mind, body and spirit. We also deliver leadership training courses for businesses as well as hosting Philippe Karl's instructor training clinics in the UK.
Extensive experience is not the prime consideration, we are looking for someone who is willing to work and keen to learn.
In exchange you will get a great education in caring for barefoot horses, groundwork, lunging, work in-hand, long reining and regular lessons in all aspects of classical riding and training. You will also attend the clinics we host with Philippe Karl.
We provide free accommodation and free livery for your horse. Bills are paid excluding food and drink but no salary offered. Hours are flexible to allow part-time working in the local area.
Applicants with own horse welcome.
Required Skills
Riding; Natural Horsemanship.
Accommodation
Shared accommodation will be provided in one of our on-site cottages.
Benefits
Own horse welcome.
The Facility
Our mission is to help people who care what their horse thinks about the way they are kept, trained and ridden.
We offer natural, barefoot, herd-based livery on a 50 acre site with modern stables available to each horse when required.
Facilities include indoor 60x20 arena, outdoor canter track with cross-country jumps, horse walkers, foot conditioning facilities and all weather gallops.
