Job Description
I'm looking for a working pupil/groom to help run a small team of 10 to 14 horses from breakers to 4 star eventers.
I need someone knowledgeable and passionate about the horses, very hardworking and devoted to the job. They need to be confident in their own ability and familiar with the work involved in the day to day running of a yard. I'm looking for someone switched on and conscientious with the desire to learn and gain experience in this field of work.
They also need to be a happy and balanced person with a good sense of humor. Good communications skills required, they need to be able to work as a team but also take sole charge if needed.
The yard is run to very high standards and I'm looking for someone who is a real perfectionist. This person will need to be able to/ learn how to trim up and turn out horses immaculately before the start of the season.
Riding skills not necessary as this is not a riding job but equally some training is available and the possibility to contribute with the horses fitness. Ideally, someone confident out hacking and working horses on the lunge.
This is a great opportunity for someone young and very keen looking to work on a professionally run yard with eventers competing at the highest level. Fantastic facilities and a wealth of experience from both Ann and Nigel Taylor at Aston-le-walls make this a brilliant place to be based with lots going on and lots to learn from.
A back up team is essential to any rider and I'm looking for someone competent who I can trust and form a good working relationship with, to enable me to get the best out of my horses. In return, I hope this experience will help them forge their future career, whatever direction they may chose to take.
