Job Description
Small sport pony stud and dressage yard requires full time groom. Must be enthusiastic, hardworking, and experienced. Must be confident handling youngstock, including colts and stallions. High standards are essential, particularly where mucking out and day to day horse management and care is concerned. Experience of stud work an advantage. Your daily duties will include turning out, general yard duties, mucking out, preparing feeds, handling youngstock etc. Some backing/breaking if experienced. Live in or out (mobile home accomodation). Prefer live out plus no pets (farm cats not fond of dogs). Good rate of pay, time off and holiday pay offered to the right individual. Prefer 6 day week or 5.5 and must be prepared to work one day every weekend and sometimes two. References will be required.
Requirements
Confidence in handling young stock safely and efficiently is essential Must have the ability to think intelligently and creatively and be highly observant. Must have a flexible approach and be willing to take on tasks that are not necessarily within current experience or expertise. A "can do" attitude is essential, as is attention to detail and taking pride in your work. You must be knowledgeable about dressage and its specific requirements or be willing to learn.

The Facility
Small private dressage yard and stud based on working family farm near Abingdon and Wantage, Oxfordshire, breeding top quality german riding ponies to bring on and sell. Three promising and succesful dressage horses also live here. 13 boxes, outside arena with mirrors, horsewalker, wash box etc. Ponies also taken on for schooling and/or selling. Fairly new venture, with opportunity for enthusiastic and knowledgeable employee to become a valuable team member.
