Job Description

Housekeeper/Groom required to look after 4 horses including 2 youngsters, 8 dogs, 2 parrots and 1 scatty screen-writer/filmmaker. General groom and housekeeping duties in a rural location -no children. Average working day 4 - 6 hrs, plus 2 hrs on Saturday morning. Experience of handling youngsters, breaking & bringing on an absolute must. Opportunity to hunt if interested. Must be reliable, easy-going, flexible with GSOH, competent and self motivated with a 'can-do' attitude and capable of taking sole charge of household when I am away Not suit someone with serious riding ambitions as this is a small, private yard. Immediate start. I'm expecting to go into hospital for surgery early Feb and will be fairly immobile for several weeks after so the post will involve some additional hours during that time and will include basic carer-duties like cooking and coffee-making as I'm told I wont be able to lift even a kettle for 3 weeks afterwards.

Unwilling to live-in.
Need to bring partner/horse

Although not an absolute requirement, it would be advantageous if the applicant could drive a non-HGV horse-box and have an interest in film/writing.

Requirements

Bright, bubbly personality, self-motivated and be a competent, confident rider. Must be experienced at breaking & bringing on youngsters. Hold a drivers licence. Comfortable with large dogs & parrots.
