Job Description

Capable person required to take charge of 7 horses on a daily basis, doing normal stable duties, mucking out, feeding, clipping, turning out to a high standard, grooming, washing, tack cleaning, lungeing, and riding (depending on riding experience).
Preparing for and going to shows, may be opportunity to compete for right person
Accommodation will be provided in a nearby modern bungalow.
The ideal applicant will be capable enough to work on their own, and take charge of the yard. He or she will take pride in turning out the horses well at all times and will be tidy and well organised around the yard. Above all, we want someone cheerful and happy around the yard!

Requirements

Applicant should be willing to take charge of the yard and to be able to work on his or her own regularly.
Applicant should take pride in turning out the horses well, and should be able to turn his or her hand to a variety of different tasks on a daily basis.
you must be keen and looking for things to do, rather than someone who watches others working, and stands about !
the ideal groom will be a perfectionist, who wants to see the horses look at their best and perform at their best ability.

Accommodation

bedroom / living room in nearby modern luxury bungalow- this is about 1km away from the stables. A bicycle is provided to get to and from the stables.

The Facility

We have 7 stables in an indoor barn with tackroom and washbay. We have a large sand and rubber arena with jumps. We ride and produce showjumping horses mainly, although occasionally we may do some dressage and eventing.
We break some young horses and bring them on. Most of our jumping horses we have broken and produced ourselves.
Currently we have a mixture of young horses and more experienced horses jumping bigger tracks.
Andrew is a British Showjumping Accredited Coach and teaches all over Scotland and North England as well as at home.
At weekends we regularly compete, and in the summer we stay away regularly at shows.
