The job offered at Seagry Stud is part time, however there are a number of other equestrian establishments in the area so there should be a chance to pick up extra work. There is approx 20 to 25 hours a week at Seagry Stud where the remuneration is a combination of accommodation and £100 cash, in addition, if you are interested and a 'house proud' person there is an option for domestic help in the house for approx 4 hours/week which would earn an additional £8/hour. Seagry Stud is a lovely new private yard with 7 top quality horses, a combination of young stock (foals to 3 years), broodmares and dressage competition horses. In 2012 we have 2 mares in foal one by Sandro Hit and one embryo transfer by Totilas so the year ahead will be very exciting. I have a part time rider and need a live-in part time groom to manage the yard, do all the general duties, handle and prepare all the horses. A limited amount of riding. The yard is in a magnificent location, is quiet and clean. You will need own transport although we are in a village. The accommodation is a lovely self contained flat, with own private entrance and fully furnished. It has one double bedroom with shower ensuite. Lounge/kitchen and lovely views across the valley. The flat will be provided with paid electricity, heating, free internet access and freeview TV but no telephone. You must be a hard working, reliable person with flexibility. The work will be approx 5 half days per week (20 to 25 hours/week) but days must be flexible. We are a very friendly, easy going yard but very serious about what we do. There is also very good prospect for additional work in the area but our work must take priority. Sorry but no own horses or pets.

Requirements

You MUST be a House Proud person with high standards. Own transport is necessary. Self starting, very committed, reliable, honest, flexible and good sense of humour. This is a quiet location so you need to be a responsible person. No party animals please! You must be able to plait well and turn out to a high level. Experience backing and bringing-on young stock would be an advantage. Sorry no own horses or pets.

Lovely new self contained, fully furnished flat with utilities paid for including electricity, water, heating and internet access but no telephone. Private entrance. Connected to main house and close to stable barn.

The Facility

New small private yard with 7 horses. It is a recently constructed yard to a very high quality. The location is stunning and there is a new barn and 20x60 all weather manege with top quality synthetic waxed surface. This is a part time role and a live-in position but hours can be increased with work at an adjacent stud and domestic help in the house if desired. Seeking a groom/stable lass/lad. A rider is already employed. The focus of the yard is on breeding dressage horses and backing, schooling and competing. There is a lovely, high quality self contained flat in the package. 2012 will be exciting with a Totilas foal on the way.
