Job Description

Groom for 40 year old hunt-jump-dressage horse breeding, training, and boarding farm. Love of taking care of plants a plus.

Requirements

Need someone to muck, feed, turrnout, bring in, blanket and unblanket, tack up, untack, clean tack, wash horses. Needs to be able to drive a tractor (we do not use wheel barrows). If full time,needs to be able to clip, lunge, assist with medical maintenance, and help care for landscaping. Exercise riding a possibility depending upon riding skills. Ability to drive a truck and horse trailer a plus.

Workers Compensation Insurance, SS/Medicare. Paid vacation if full time, after one year's employment. Must be a U.S. citizen, have a green card, or have a valid U.S. work visa. We do not pay cash, or under the table.

The Facility

We currently have 12 insulated stalls, a tack room, feed room, and business office, an 80 x 160 lighted outdoor arena with rubber footing & closed viewing stand, a covered lunging pen with viewing stand, a hot walker, two run-in sheds, four double-fenced pastures and eight sand turn-outs, a wood shop, an equipment shed, and a cottage for live-in barn help, as well as the owner's farm house.

In operation for over 40 years, we have trained many working students, interns, and pre-vet candidates. We run an equine whole health clinic, using a variety of traditional and complimentary therapies, including Class IV Therapeutic Laser, acupuncture, light emitting diode therapy, chiropractice, and homeopathy. We also own a 9000 square foot state of the art, 4-doctor small animal hospital.
