Job Description

We are looking for responsible, passionate, hard working student. We have a very friendly learning environment with many different riding opportunities. The position is six days a week with housing provided. As a working student you are expected to be capable of completing all typical barn chores and horse care. Chores, riding, lunging, groundwork, grooming, feeding, assisting with lessons and shows will also be included.

Requirements

Basic responsibilities include (can be trained):
- Bringing horses in/out
-Schooling/riding/lunging horses that need to be worked
-Clipping
-Feeding (when needed)
-helping to oversee/manage barn
-Administering medications/shots
-Grooming
-Tacking up
-General assistant to trainer/barn manager at home or at shows
-Facility maintenance (if needed)
-Shipping horses back/forth to nearby shows/hunts or off property turnout pastures

Required Skills

Riding; Driving license; Schooling; Bandaging; Exercising.

Benefits

You will have the opportunity to ride daily and possible showing opportunities to the right rider as well as great training opportunities. We can offer a small weekly stipend if needed. We offer barrel racing, hunter/jumpers, and fox hunting. All of which can be included to help expand knowledge and exploration of overall interests of our working student. We expect you to have a fun experience while learning more about what you love to do and expanding your knowledge and education.

The Facility

19 horses at our barn with 11 stalls. We have three pastures on the property as well as a 5 acre property for turnout down the road from the barn and a 20 acre property one street over. We have a fenced in arena that is a basic riding and barrel arena and a fenced in grass jump field as well as a round pen to work in.
