Job Description
Position available for responsible, dedicated working student. Very friendly learning environment. Reviewing applicants for position to begin immediately for one month term April 15-May 15 (chance of renewal at term end).
We have a great group of horses and riders at our barn. The position involves grooming at rated shows (ie. WEF, etc.), and doing routine tasks and basic horse care at the barn with attention to detail and a great attitude. It will also provide riding and training experiences, and can take the right individual as far as they are willing to work to go; opportunities will be provided for those who show commitment, dedication and desire. Possibility to turn into a full-time long-term position for the right individual
Requirements
Involves 5 days/wk.
This is a well-rounded position covering all aspects.
Responsibilities may include:
* Assisting at rated shows
* Bringing horses in/out
* Working with colts
* Riding/lunging horses
* Clipping
* Wrapping Legs
* Feeding
* Grooming
* Tacking up
* General assistant to trainer/barn manager at home or at shows
* Facility maintenance
* Assisting cleaning stalls (1-2x weekly)
* Regular lessons/training sessions included
Required Skills
Equine First-Aid; Handling Youngstock; Schooling; Lunging; Bandaging; Clipping; Sole Charge; Exercising.
Required Expertise
Showing; Sole Charge; Flatwork.
Accommodation
Housing is included if needed in a shared 3/2 working student house on a canal 25 mins south of the barn, 10 mins from showgrounds.

Annual breeding and raising of hunter foals.
