Job Description

*** General management and care of hunter and equitation horses in new facility just west of Boston. Show management and grooming. Some exercise rides.

Job responsibilities:

* general care and maintenance of horses, barn and facilities.

* Daily grooming, feeding, stalls, turnout.

*Show management (entries, stabling, hotels), show set up for away shows, grooming at shows. Tracking points for finals.

*Management/ordering of hay, grain, manure pick ups, maintenance of equipment and property (e.g. Assessing if fences need repairs, etc.).

*Management of rings and footing including dragging rings, jump care and maintenance.

* Some exercising of horses.

*Assisting with vet, farrier and dentist as well as scheduling.

Requirements

Experience and skills required: commitment, attention to detail, someone who looks for problem areas and figures out how to solve them; someone who is interested in helping set up a new barn and the systems to allow growth; wrapping, poulticing, IM shots, clipping and braiding a huge plus, experience driving horse trailers, dressage or hunter/equitation riding; show grooming, packing and planning

Required Skills

Riding; Driving license; Drive Horsebox; Equine First-Aid; Plaiting; Clipping; Trim/Pull; Sole Charge.
