Job Description

Description - Looking to contract an AT. They are responsible for implementing the exercise and training routines set in place by the head trainer. They will be comfortable and have experience and success in handling young horses and breaking them. They will be instrumental in creating a foundation of general etiquette and manners in the young horses.
Responsibilities
•Implementing exercise routines developed by the head trainer
•Grooming 30-40% of the time for head trainer or one of their clients .
•Basic under saddle work
•Ground work
•Starting young horses including mares and stallions
•Training in general manners
•Duties can be interchangeable with barn manager & groom duties
•Help in any way necessary during show season
•Minimum 1 year commitment required
Requirements
This is a position which relies more on experience than formal schooling. High school diploma required, college preferred. USDF medals, those with experience training in Europe, or successful young horse programs/competitions will have preference. Rider must be balanced with an independent seat. Light in the hands, straight, and forward thinking a must.
Must be a self-starter and motivated with a positive attitude respect for all those around them. Professional and curtious at all times – even when off duty as you would be representing this company 100% of the time. Flexible in schedule and availability depending on the trainers schedule and or show schedule. Team player is a must with the ability to make changes and shift gears quickly.
