Job Description

Barn manager is to work on farm training horses and overseeing horse care. Doing work when other employees are off. Feeding and nutrition management, getting horses to show and fox hunts on time. Will discuss in detail prior to employment.
Barn Interns will work for room and board and stall for horse. 40 horses on farm that need trained and ridden. Give lessons, clean and care for horses. Clip and feed, etc.

Requirements

All employees must be willing to work hard and have fun. We have 40 horses that need ridden trained and cared for. We do like to have a lot of fun. This is primarily a fox hunting barn but we also do shows, mini-events and hunter paces on the east coast.

Benefits

With 40 horses, every day is a learning experience. We have green horses to made horses. All need work and conditioning. Feed and nutrition is daily adjustment due to conditioning schedules and wt gain or loss. First aid is also a daily occurance.

The Facility

175 acre horse farm in western Pa. There are between 30 and 35 horses that need to be exercised and trained.There is a 38 stall barn with 2 wash stalls and lots of pastures. We have a 150 by 250 jumping arena and a 133 by 66 dressage arena. We are currently building coops for an outside jumping course to go in this month. We are a foxhunting barn but also do pony club, mini eventing and hunter paces. We like to hunt here in Pa, Va, Md and NY. We provide horses for lessons for children and adults and lease hunt horses. We are also developing a therapeutic riding program for veterans and an indoor will be built soon.
