Job Description

Looking for a working student for a small event stable in the heart of Virginia horse country. Elizabeth and Courtney Olmstead, husband and wife team both upper level event riders. Our main focus is retraining the OTTB to event but we also rehabilitate upper level event horses, train foxhunters and break young horses. Both of us have experience working for and training with Karen and David O'Connor, Kyle Carter, Jan Byyny, Phillip Dutton and Stephen Bradley. Looking for a hard working, eager to learn individual who wants to be a part of a young growing team. Housing for you, board, hay, grain for your horse included. Also as many lessons as you and horse as you need or desire. Plenty of opportunity for growth for the right person as well as riding opportunities for capable person. Looking for someone wants to learn the ropes of several aspects of the horse industry with two professionals who are willing to share all of our information.

Requirements

General horse management, barn chores, mucking, bringing in and turning out, grooming, traveling to events, help around the farm

Required Skills

Driving license; Equine First-Aid; Clipping; Sole Charge.

Required Expertise

Eventing.
