Job Description

Family owned and operated. 51 acre private farm breeding and developing classical baroque and show dressage horses (Lipizzans) - not a boarding barn. We have 20 horses from foal to 25 years. Facilities incluse indoor arena, outdoor dressage arena, round pen, shelters, heated water troughs, heated feed room, hot water, portable toilet. We feed 2 times a day and provide 24 hour turnout to most . A few stallions are on 12 hour rotational turnout.
General Duties: feeding, bathing, grooming, cleaning tack, barn upkeep, mowing in season, mucking stalls. Not all stalls are in use, some just during feeding as most are turned out 24x7. Assist with sales presentation and videos.
Requirements:
Knowledge of wound care and medications
Ability to assist vet/farrier,
Experience handling horses including stallions and youngsters
Experience with farm equipment operation
Ability to lift and move hay bales water troughs fence boards and to hitch up farm implements
Reliable transportation
Dedication/good work ethic
Good communication skills
No Smoking, No pets
Riding experience helpful but not required. Helmets and safe riding shoes/boots required when mounted.
Riding lessons and opportunity to do ground work or exercise under saddle may be available under supervision of owner or trainers. PHOTO and video required if you want to ride
Work schedule is 5 days a week, generally 8-5 with breaks, flexible. Overtime is occasional for grooming at shows/clinics during evenings or on weekends, sometimes overnight travel during show season. Lessons or training would be evenings and weekends although assisting trainer can be weekdays.
We would consider 2 part time helpers either split am/pm, by day of week, or by barn/horses. You could work am and pm feedings and do similar for neighboring farms if preferred.

Accessible to Morven Park, Menfelt, Gordonsdale XC, Great Meadows and many other showing/training venues. We breed Lipizzans & stand an imported, approved stallion. We occasionally breed Oldenburgs and reining QHs. We offer self-care board with 24x7 turnout. Amenities include 51 acres, indoor arena, lighted outdoor arena & round pen, & monthly clinics with Jean Paul Pare. We sell Duett saddles and hand made Medieval saddle pads. Riders' expertise includes eventing and dressage. Future non-profit club for teaching good horsemanship and general riding skills at a reasonable/subsidized price.
