Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary is a small animal rescue charity located just outside Antrim Town, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. We have over 30 equines in residence at any one time and have a small team of dedicated staff and volunteers.
We work with horses, ponies, and donkeys primarily but also provide care, rescue and rehabilitation to other animals and wildlife when needed. The majority of the equines are in natural herd groups.
We take in animals from owners who can no longer care for them, provide welfare services, take in abandoned equines as well as those who have experienced neglect and/or abuse.
Many of the equines are completely unhandled at the entry to the sanctuary or need retraining.
We have all ages, from foals to 30-year-olds and on occasion take in pregnant mares.
Although residents are majority geldings and mares, we do take in stallions too.
We rescue, care, rehabilitate, train and if suitable we also rehome.
