Locketts is privately owned and consists of hunters, pointers, young stock & ponies. Hunting clinics are held in the Autumn ahead of the start of the hunting season and people are welcome to come "hedge-hopping" when conditions permit. Locketts is an efficiently set up yard where all the stabling is undercover. 10 stables have rubber sealed flooring with a further 4 pens in a Dutch Barn. There is a good wash-box and clipping box with infra-red lights.
Facilities include a walker, an outdoor school, a 5 1/2 furlong wood-chip gallop, a 4 1/2 furlong sand track all of which are set in a 250 acre vale farm. There are numerous natural obstacles i.e. hedges and what is known as the "playpen" full of the sorts of things you might come across when out hunting i.e. water toughs, gates, tiger-traps and logs.
Hacking is plentiful and the roads surrounding the property are country lanes.
Sturminster Newton is less than 10 minutes away, with Blandford Forum & Sherborne not being much further.
