We are looking for someone who wants more than a job – someone who wants to be part of a place with purpose. Our farm in Western Hungary, near the Austrian and Slovakian border, is not a polished show stable but a growing home for horses who need a second chance. Mini-Shetties, untouched youngsters, gentle seniors, sport horses, chronically ill or traumatised horses – they live here, heal here, and when ready, find a new forever home. We also care for goats, sheep, chickens and other animals, so the farm is full of real life, not perfection.
Your work supports the horses physically, mentally and emotionally: groundwork, lunging, riding when it suits horse and rider, helping young horses learn, handling sensitive horses with calm confidence, assisting with daily care and medical treatments, and taking part in the rhythm of the farm. Stable staff handle the main cleaning – your role is to think ahead, notice what needs doing and help shape routines as the farm develops.
You should have solid horse experience, especially with groundwork and young or sensitive horses. No competition record or perfect dressage seat required – what matters is empathy, curiosity, willingness to learn and the calmness to work with horses who have a story. You speak English, work independently and enjoy being part of a project still in progress, not a finished system. Because accommodation is shared, we prefer female applicants.
We offer meaningful work where you can see your impact every day, a private room in shared housing with garden space, fair above-standard pay, a supportive international team, learning opportunities (hoof care, training methods, long-term saddle fitting education) and beautiful hacking routes in nature. This is a place where your ideas and heart are welcome.
If this feels like a place you could belong, we’d love to hear from you.
Requirements
You have solid experience with horses, especially in groundwork, young horses and sensitive types, and you care more about progress and growth than perfection. You’re someone who is organized, proactive and ready to take responsibility without being told every step. Emotional intelligence matters to you just as much as riding skill, and you communicate confidently in English in daily life. You’re not looking for just a job, but a place where you can belong, contribute, and help shape something that is still developing. Because the accommodation is shared, we prefer female applicants. What we don’t need is a competition résumé, high-level dressage experience or a “know-it-all” attitude. What we truly appreciate is curiosity, empathy, willingness to learn and a genuine inner drive.
Required Key Skills
Lunging ExercisingAccommodation
Housing is available on site and included in the position if desired. You will have a large private room in a shared house with one other young woman (from Finland), making it a comfortable and quiet living space rather than a dorm-style setup. The house has a shared bathroom and kitchen, a spacious garden and enough room for personal projects like gardening or growing your own vegetables if that interests you. The location is rural and peaceful — ideal if you enjoy nature, animals and a slower, more grounded lifestyle, while still being within easy reach of borders, towns and travel connections. Because the accommodation is shared, we prefer female applicants for this position.
Job Benefits
What we offer is not just a salary, but a role where your work has real impact. Every day you can see the difference you make in the lives of horses who would not have had a chance elsewhere. You become part of a small, supportive and international team where ideas are welcome and personal growth is encouraged. The position comes with fair, above-standard pay for the responsibility involved, as well as opportunities to develop new skills such as hoof care, young horse development, training approaches and, long-term, even certified saddle fitting education. You will have access to well-handled horses for both arena work and hacking, and you’ll be surrounded by peaceful countryside, yet close enough for weekend trips to Austria or Slovakia. This is a place where passion is valued, not just performance, and where you can shape something as it grows — not just follow rules in a system already built.

Equestrian Employer Details
Our stable is a private, horse-friendly facility where a variety of horses call home—foals, ponies, rescues, and sport horses. Beyond horses, we also have other animals like goats and sheep, making our farm a diverse and lively place.
At the heart of our facility is a strong pro-horse and pro-animal philosophy. We focus on creating a natural, supportive, and ethical environment for both our animals and the people who work with them. Our team consists of local employees who help us care for the horses and maintain the farm.
We are still in the process of developing our facility, so if someone is looking for a high-end, professional sport stable, this might not be the right fit. However, if you are passionate about horses, animal welfare, and want to be part of a growing, hands-on project, we’d love to hear from you!
