We are looking for a kind, capable and experienced person to join our busy family from late January 2027, initially for approximately 3–4 months, with the possibility of staying longer. This is a varied role combining pony care, childcare and general family/household support during a particularly busy period of the year. We have two young children who attend school. They are very active, love the outdoors. We already have established family childcare, and the successful applicant would work alongside and support this arrangement, helping with the morning routine and getting everyone organised for school, children’s activities, some homework, and generally helping to keep the household and family routine running smoothly. The equestrian side of the position involves caring for our two 128cm competition ponies all based within our professional family showjumping yard where an experienced team of staff are on hand. Duties include mucking out, turning ponies in and out, feeding, grooming, tack care, lunging, aquatredmill preparing ponies for training and competitions, general day-to-day pony and stable management. Everything is maintained to a high standard, so genuine equestrian experience and excellent horsemanship are essential. This is not a riding position. We need someone confident and experienced handling competition ponies. Above all, we are looking for someone organised, practical, reliable and good with children — the sort of person who sees what needs doing and is happy to help keep everybody organised and where they need to be. The role would particularly suit someone who enjoys both family life and a professional equestrian environment. If you want to be really busy an opportunity to help on Dairy Farm is also available but not essential. Live-in accommodation available. Excellent references essential. Full driving licence preferred. Further details regarding the position, package and working arrangements can be discussed with suitable applicants.
