We are a competitive horse riding yard located on the northern outskirts of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. The yard has stables, paddocks and dressage arenas that host training and dressage events, and we take pride in a well-run, safe and immaculately maintained property.

We are looking for a proactive and conscientious Maintenance Technician to be the go-to person for all maintenance and practical work across the yard. This is a varied, hands-on and often non-routine role, suited to someone who enjoys solving practical problems and takes full ownership of their work.

Key responsibilities:

• General repairs and maintenance of buildings, stables, arenas and infrastructure
• Electrical, plumbing and mechanical fault-finding and repairs
• Operating and servicing the tractor and other machinery
• Fencing installation and repair, including electric fencing
• Irrigation, borehole and pump maintenance
• Upkeep and inventory of all tools and equipment
• Supporting site security and health and safety

The role reports directly to the Owner.

Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
• Min. 5 years’ experience in estate, farm, facilities or general maintenance
• Proven all-round competence in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fencing and irrigation work; a trade qualification such as millwright is highly beneficial
• Confident operating and maintaining farm machinery, including a tractor
• Valid driver’s licence (Code B / EB); PDP an advantage
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather
• Willing to work occasional weekends and after-hours
• Own reliable transport strongly recommended
