We have an opportunity for a dedicated equine student to join our training programme. We are a modern 5 star riding centre on the west coast of Scotland. For many years we have operated as a highly commended British Horse Society place to train with a long proven examination record. This training placement will last for a minimum of one year, with successful students being offered further training years whilst pursuing exams. This position will suit an equestrian looking to get a start or progress in the industry, with a recognised professional qualification. The successful candidate will have a passion for horses, willingness to learn, be good with people and have a very good work ethic.
The structure of the programme includes a lot of daily riding - schooling of our horses, exercising livery clients horses and taking customers out on our scenic forrest treks. BHS level training is provided on site in preparation for your exams, depending on your chosen pathway.
Qualifications available:- BHS/TRSS Senior Ride Leader, Centre Manager, Human & Equine First aid, Child protection.
The post requires a passionate person who loves horses and people, a willingness to work as part of a team is essential.
Required Key Skills
Accommodation and all meals are provided. Your evening meal is prepared for you, Sorry we cannot accommodate picky eaters. Your bedding is supplied and will be laundered for you. There is shower facilities in the main house, you will require your own bath towel/toiletries.
Argyll Adventure is a well respected 5 star training yard and our students excel in many different areas. Apart from the obvious horse riding and instruction the social life is pretty good too with barbecues & bonfires in the evenings. Students swim the horses in Loch Fyne which is at the centres front door and days off can be spent exploring Argyll and all it has to offer or a short journey to Glasgow for cinema/ice skating/dinner. We have a busy season and you will have the opportunity to practise and hone your skills prior to examination. On completion of the course you will have the practical experience from a leading Riding Centre known for its best practice and modern working systems and BHS/TRSS certificated qualification(s) Although many of your hours will be your learning hours there is a number of paid hours attached to the post. You will also be given the opportunity to gain human & equine first aid as well as child safe guarding certificates - all exams are paid for.
