Farley Hall EC is looking for an experienced groom to take charge of a new yard of 6-8 horses that is opening in July, to run alongside our 20-box full livery yard. The yards will run in harmony but separately so there is scope for this person to have responsibility for their yard.
We are looking for an individual confident in handling and caring for fit competition horses, with good instincts and understanding of feeding, turnout, injury care and competition prep (plaiting, studs, tack-cleaning). However, you do not have to have run a yard before as you will be supervised by the owner and have support from the team running the 20-box yard. You will work with one other groom and may have some input into training apprentices, if you have the right skillset. Travel to shows may be possible, and some riding, but riding is not an integral part of the job.
FHEC is part of Farley Farms & Estate, a working farm with 1750 acres, so you will be part of a large community of staff. Accommodation is not necessarily supplied though there are some options if needed.
5/6-day week (your preference), full contract and pension scheme, paid holiday/sick pay.
