About Us We are a friendly, professional equestrian centre that is: • BHS, ABRS and Pony Club Approved. • A busy riding school and livery yard. • Home to our own breeding programme. • Passionate about producing our own horses, with opportunities to be involved in backing, breaking and schooling. • Committed to supporting our staff through training, further qualifications, competition opportunities and ongoing professional development.
About You We're looking for someone who can work confidently on their own initiative, has plenty of common sense, and enjoys getting stuck in. You'll be approachable, reliable and hardworking, with a positive attitude and the flexibility to turn your hand to a variety of tasks. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with both customers and colleagues are essential.
Essential Skills and Experience • Confident carrying out all general yard duties to a high standard. • Able to clip horses to a basic level. • Competent in lunging and long reining horses safely and effectively. • Good horse-handling skills with a calm and confident approach. • Able to work independently, use your own initiative and demonstrate good practical judgement. • Friendly, approachable and reliable with a strong work ethic. • Full UK driving licence. • Confident teaching both adults and children (this is not a full-time teaching role). • Previous experience working in a similar equestrian or yard environment.
Requirements
Desirable Skills The following would be an advantage but are not essential, as training can be provided: • Able to ride horses to a fair standard. • Experience driving a tractor or other agricultural machinery. • Ability to tow a trailer. • Basic computer skills. • Experience with breeding and youngstock.
