Hello, I have grown up with horses my entire life. I have lived on ranches & farms all throughout east Texas. I’m excited to expand my knowledge & exchange cultures & horsemanship knowledge. I’m a hard worker & eager to learn. I also know English & western riding riding. I love training green & untamed horses. Give me a challenge, they’re my favorite. I don’t mind grunt work either. I can muck a stall & clean tack with the best of them.

RESIDENTIAL GROOM
NEW FOREST HAMPSHIRE
EXPERIENCED GROOM/YARD MANAGER
Essential Requirements - Strictly No pets, Non-smoker, and driver with own car essential.
Minimum of five years’ experience with long term checkable references.
Our clients live in the residence for only July and August annually, so a reliable, completely all-round knowledgeable person is required to care for the 5 horses, 2 of whom are gently ridden. These include a retired dressage Friesian gelding 18 hands and now enjoying his semi-retirement, 3 TB ex racers (2 mares and I gelding). One of the mares is in foal, hence foaling experience and handling of foals would be an advantage.
The groom must be responsible for all aspects of the horses' care, health and wellbeing in conjunction with top notch veterinary practice locally. Oversight of all medical issues, worming, farrier, bringing in and turning out, care of all horse equipment and mucking out, tack cleaning, exercising and ideally some foaling experience a huge plus but not essential. Paddock management, grass and field fencing, repairs etc.
The property has a significant equestrian complex including a stabling with (five) loose boxes, tack room, kitchen, WC and feed room, rug room, stable yard with central seating water fed paddocks and field shelters.
You must drive and have your own car, though a vehicle for business use is available to all staff on the estate.
Lovely and unusual single accommodation is available. MUST be non-smoker and sorry no pets or dependants.
When clients are in residence for 2 months only each year, all staff are required to muck in and muck out, so flexibility is absolutely essential, along with a professional and friendly personality.
This is a sole groom role for an experienced person with superb references and mature outlook to settle into a long-term role which offers a really super lifestyle.
Salary circa £20,000 - £25,000 per annum negotiable for the right candidate. Reference (HU3855)
Team player essential. Self sufficient sole charge groom working closely with garden and estate staff.
Single accommodation on the estate.
Privately owned stable yard involved in breeding, showing and private driving. Fantastic setting in the middle of Thetford Forest in Norfolk, all staff members are long term and we offer a happy working environment and appreciate dedicated professionals who seek a long term job, on the rare occasions we advertise for staff here.
