- Little Munden Equestrian is seeking a full time experienced groom for our Highly Commended livery yard located minutes off the M25 in Bricket Wood near Watford /St Albans. What we offer you:
• 5 day week (on a 7 day rolling rota)
• Wages £26K - £28K depending on experience + lessons, training, discounted health-care, free accommodation
• Contracted full time job, 28 days paid holiday.
• Normal yard duties + daily riding/ground working lovely horses. This is not just a mucking out job (ave 6 per day)!
• 7.15am to 5pm with mid morning break and long lunchbreak
• Uniform provided
• Live In (preferred) rent free
• Cheerful staff team, lovely livery owners and a wide range of type of horses to work with.

What we are looking for from you: • Cheerful, dedicated and reliable with high personal and professional standards • Understanding that equestrian world is a lifestyle choice not just a job • Confident to handle a variety of horses (no stallions) • Able to work as both part of a team but take individual initiative • Able to do all yard/groom duties to a high standard, whilst still being time efficient • Ability to ride / school horses in basic lateral work • Confident to hack horses (no road work) • Experience of taking a Team Leader Roll sometimes would be helpful but not essential.

Requirements
This job is available due to the restructuring of our staff team, due to the increasing numbers of horses we have to exercise each day. You need to be cheerful, team player, reliable and happy to work in all weathers. Being coachable, dedicated, fit and have a love of horses is more important than qualifications. Due to the horses we have to exercise, your weight and height need to be in ratio. You need to be able to ride both in the school and hacking and a knowledge of lateral work would be helpful. Immediate start prefered but will wait for the right person. Interview/trials will be week commencing 16th June.
Accommodation
Live in required. Own room in free accommodation is available in a shared farmhouse (a listed building, part of which was built over 200yrs ago - quirky!) on site, just 100m from the yard, no rent charged just utility bills shared between the live-in staff. Sorry no pets in the farmhouse and no space for staff horses. No Smokers in the accommodation.
