We are seeking a professional, outgoing, dedicated and experienced Livery Yard Manager to oversee daily operations at our high-end livery yard. This role will involve: • Leading by example and managing a team of 6 full-time and 7 part-time staff. • Ensuring the highest standard of care for 36 horses. • Implementing exercise, rehab and training programmes. • Administration duties to comply with financial management, Health and Safety and employment. • Maintaining the facilities and grazing. • Identifying and implementing strategies for growth.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, high personal and professional standards, the ability to utilise initiative, a passion for horse care and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the business. Previous experience of working with high profile clients would be an advantage.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Previous experience in management of a livery yard. • Equine management qualifications desirable or relevant experience. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team and handle client relations. • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively. • Knowledge of horse care, including feeding, health monitoring, grooming, exercise training programmes and mucking out. • Ability to ride and/or work horses from the ground. • A strong understanding of health and safety protocols in an equestrian environment. • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients (some high profile), staff and suppliers. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Basic administrative and financial management skills. • First Aid and Health & Safety training are desirable. • Full UK driving licence preferable.

Please email for full job description. Day to Day Yard Management: Daily running of the yard, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety & horse care. Maintain facilities & equipment. Manage staff team’s performance. Stock & budget management. Oversee exercise & training programmes. Horse Care: Supervise & carry out the general welfare of the horses: feeds, grooming, mucking out & ensuring their overall health. Monitor & report on any health condition, liaising with vets, farriers etc. Staff Supervision: Lead by example and manage a team of yard staff. Provide training, motivation, and support for staff to ensure high standards of care and customer service. Customer Relations: Serve as the key point of contact for clients. Maintain positive relationships with horse owners, answering questions, addressing concerns & ensuring customer satisfaction. Work to retain clients & generate new business by offering exceptional service. Facilities Development: Work with the yard owner to develop the yard's facilities & services. Administrative Tasks: Related to horse welfare, farrier visits, vet liaison & horse health records. Coordinate staff work schedules. Monitor & order supplies. Record data related to financial planning & charges. Health and Safety: Ensure adherence to all health & safety regulations, risk assessments and emergency plans. Train staff as required. Business Growth: Assist with marketing efforts to increase brand awareness & attract new clients. Content Creation: Assist the yard owner to create engaging & informative posts showcasing yard activities. Compliance to GDPR etc

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Full-time position. 7.15am to 5pm with 1 1/2hrs of break. 5 days a week on a 7-day rolling rota. Plus, an additional evening check.
