Join one of the UK’s leading school equestrian centres as a Senior Groom, working within a professional yard of up to 40 horses, supported by excellent facilities.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to take on a key role within a high-performing team, supporting both excellent horse care and a successful student equestrian programme.
The Role Working closely with the Stable Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the yard, combining hands-on care, team supervision and operational responsibility. You will:
Support the smooth running of a busy yard Supervise and guide grooms, maintaining high standards Deliver excellent horse care, welfare and stable management Support students with horse care and management Contribute to a professional livery service and client relationships
In the absence of the Stable Manager, you will oversee operations, including team management, liaison with vets and farriers, and responding to horse health issues. You will also ensure horses, equipment and vehicles are prepared for competitions.
About You You will have: At least 5 years’ experience in a professional equestrian environment BHS Stage 3 (minimum) Confidence handling fit competition horses Strong knowledge of nutrition, fitness and welfare Experience supervising or mentoring staff
You will be organised, proactive, and a confident communicator, able to work effectively with students, parents and clients.
Working Hours & Package Full-time, year-round (average 48 hours per week) Term time: approx. 6:45am–6:30pm, 5 days per week Non-term: approx. 7:30am–5:30pm, 5 days per week Weekend rota required Salary: £32,033 per annum

Equestrian Centre for Independent boarding school situated in Somerset and caters to children ages 2 - 18. Facilities include stabling for up to 100 horses over 2 sites, combining accommodation in American style barns and traditional stables, indoor arena 44m x 64m, outdoor arena 50m x 70m, 2 sets of BS standard show jumps and portable X-C jumps, cross-country schooling fences, off road canter track and access to gallops, all-weather horse walker and round pen and resident yard staff.
Consists of 120 acres in which there is a hacking trail, a canter track and two all-weather arenas and a BE cross country course by Adrian Ditcham, designer of the 2012 Olympics cross country course.
