We are seeking an experienced, reliable and confident Freelance Equestrian Rider to assist with the exercising, schooling and ongoing development of horses on a private estate.

Key Responsibilities: -Riding, exercising and schooling horses according to their individual training and fitness requirements.

-Hacking horses on the estate and surrounding routes.

-Assisting with fitness, conditioning and general development.

-Riding a variety of horses with different temperaments and abilities.

-Monitoring horses' behaviour, performance and wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly.

-Preparing horses for exercise and ensuring appropriate care afterwards.

-Maintaining high standards of horse welfare and safe working practices.

-Working alongside the equestrian team and providing regular feedback on each horse's progress.

-Ensuring tack and equipment are used safely and correctly maintained.

Skills & Experience: -Experienced, competent and sympathetic rider.

-Confident handling and riding a variety of horses.

-Excellent understanding of equine behaviour and welfare.

-Ability to recognise signs of discomfort, lameness or changes in behaviour.

-Reliable, professional and able to work independently.

-Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

-Experience with young or green horses is desirable.

Freelance Requirements: -This position is offered on a freelance, self-employed basis, with working days and rates agreed according to requirements and availability.
