This role is in working in a competition livery yard. The job involves all normal stable duties, the exercise of competition horses and travel to shows. You must have: worked in the industry already, have a practical knowledge of stable management, horse health and the ability to ride fit powerful horses competently, hacking or in the school. It would be a good role for someone who has finished an apprenticeship and is looking for their first 'proper' job. Equally we would welcome someone more experienced.
Somebody who showjumped would also benefit from the opportunity of having their own horse on the yard, training and going to shows with us.
You should: be happy to work within a structured enviroment, prepared to work efficiently with safety in mind, like things to be organised, clean and tidy with attention to detail, have a keen interest in the training of horses both ridden and on the ground.
Our horses are treated as individuals and all our grooms must have their welfare at heart. Your role will require you to maintain the high standards of the yard if the Owner is not present.
This is a full time position 5.5 days a week 7:30 - 17:30. You will be expected to groom for up to six horses. Modern Accommodation on site is available. You will work alongside two other full time grooms, who are hard working, love horses and are easy to get along with.
We want someone who really wants to work with horses and be professional in the job they do. You should:- have a love of horses and like to care for them, be prepared to work to a high standard enjoy working as a team member and happy to take charge of the team to ensure the yard standard are maintained and most of all be cheerful & conscientious. We really want someone who sees the yard as 'theirs' and wants to be a part of the yard for a period of time, working with the owner to continue promoting the good reputation we have built. If you meet the criteria then it will be possible to keep your own, well behaved, horse at the yard. There will be a livery charge to meet the cost of feed and so on, but you will be able to do the horse within your working day, details will be discussed at interview.
There is modern accommodation on site. You have you own room with en-suite shower room and there is a shared kitchen and sitting area. There is a freezer, washing machine and dryer. All your bills are paid, and cleaning products are provided. You will need to provide your own food.
A modern yard with good working & living facilities. A professional but friendly environment. You will be given your own set of horses to be responsible for and you are not expected to routinely muck out more than six horses. You will be expected to do the horses you have in your care well. We have a strict yard routine which means you have time to properly groom & trim and maintain a clean working environment. This is an easy job for someone who likes to be busy and not take shortcuts. You will learn about how to run a yard and manage staff. If you were to bring your own horse, you will have help to hand, improve your own horse and riding and an opportunity to travel to some shows. It will give you the chance to live a 'horsey' life.
We are a small livery yard that offers a full livery service to competition standard. In the main the livery owners showjump. The yard is an american barn style of 16 stables all with automactic drinkers, 25mX50m school, lunge school, horsewalker and jump field. We are very commited to providing a high level of care to our owners and their horses.
Grooms accomodation is a modern and all grooms have their own room and shower room.
