Our apprentices have now "graduated". There is an opening as a trainee event groom with opportunities to travel to some competitions and learn how to be a travelling groom. It is a super opportunity to learn a lot of skills as we have young horses and event horses competing to 5*. In the winter we will be training, jumping and have some horses in for backing In 2023 I completed Burghley as the youngest rider and now have a second horse qualified to 5* aimed at Burghley 2024. In 2025 I will have 5 or 6 intermediate/3* -Adv/5* horse and several youngsters competing up to Novice which will result in a very busy and exciting season.
As next year is going to be so busy, we are doing a bit of forward planning and have decided to split the riding school, livery and event yards, hence we are having a reshuffle and looking for more staff. You will care for the horses, can be involved in fittening work, plait, clip, trim etc.
The person must have good people skills and be patient so that they can be personable with owners and clients coming to view horses. Someone with the right personality to work with my current team is extremely important. An exciting opportunity to join an "up and coming" rider, with a great team that care for each other and their horses. If you would like to join us please do get in touch.
Previous horse experience is necessary as some of the horses are young or fit and so can be sharp at times.

We now have 3 separately staffed yards: Event Yard with Tom Bird: I am a young event rider who has ridden to 5* completing Burghley as the youngest competitor in 2023 and was 2nd at Bramham in the U25's. I have event horses ranging from youngsters being backed through to 5* Level with horses being aimed at Badminton, Bramham and Burghley including Sept 2024. Although I am younger I have grown up helping clients and would like to think that if you asked my staff or clients, they would say that I had excellent people skills The Livery Yard has adults with RC horses, younger children learning to compete and taking part in pony club, but we now have a lot of children with ponies working towards Pony Trials who need help and support both schooling their horses and at competitions. All are lovely - we are very lucky! The Riding School is very friendly encouraging clients to be involved in care of the horses rather than just arriving to ride. Many learn to compete on our school horses
