Located in north San Diego county, we are seeking a full time groom who has competency and confidence in handling and grooming high caliber race and/or sport horses. We are a full service athletic center who aides in the rehabilitation and conditioning of horses, primarily race horses. Looking to expand our team with someone who shows mastery in the following:
Assist in daily grooming sessions with light daily grooming, bathing, light clipping and mane pulling.
Hand walk horses as prescribed in their rehabilitation program.
Assist in therapies such as vibration plate, range of motion exercises and eurociser.
Assist in turnout, feeding and blanketing.
As part of a team, work together daily on laundry and general cleanliness to keep the barn(s) tidy and organized.
Be an integral part of the team and work closely with other staff as needed for patient care
Provide excellent communication with team
Perform other duties as assigned
Be able to work both independently and as an integral part of a team in a highly professional manner
Be comfortable and confident working with and around high caliber sport horses
Be able to communicate effectively with other staff members
Must be trustworthy & dependable, motivated & take initiative, and carry the highest level of professionalism with clients and other team members.
