As a Groom for Casini Cavalli, you will ensure our valuable horses are presented at the highest standard through your skilled care, attention to detail, and reliable efforts. You will keep each horse clean, healthy, comfortable, and prepared for what their day brings. The condition and presentation of our horses are a direct reflection of your work and dedication to our mission and values. Every client who visits Casini Cavalli experiences the standard of excellence you help create.
Wednesday-Sunday, 7am-3:30pm, Half Hour Lunch
-Reliably maintains regular and punctual attendance -Reports any emergencies or needed maintenance to appropriate supervisor -Communicates and engages with others in a professional manner -Maintains flexibility in changing conditions while having a positive attitude -Bathes and grooms horses, including braiding and wrapping -Turns out horses -Tacks and untacks horses -Prepares horses for and assists the vet and farrier -Cleans tack -Removes horses from stalls if necessary for cleaners -Handwalks horses -Performs basic veterinary care when necessary -Occasional travel to shows -Feeds horses and cleans stalls when necessary
Requirements
THIS IS A PHYSICALLY DEMANDING JOB
This is an outdoor position and requires working in all weather conditions. Environment is dusty, muddy, and contains typical hazards associated with a horse breeding facility.
-Must have saavy ability to handle unpredictable horses -Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift bales of hay and sacks of grain, 50-120lbs -Perform repetitive movements daily
-Minimum 5 years horse experience -Minimum 3 years experience employed in similar duties at a professional breeding, training, or show stable -Minimum 1 year stallion, foal, broodmare and weanling experience OR EXTENSIVE professional horse experience with demonstrated sound judgment -Excellent communication skills -Excellent attention to detail and observation skills -Proficient in following directions by listening and reading -Must enjoy working effectively in a team environment
