Stony Hill Stables, located in the heart of the Hamptons and operating for 60+ years, seeks a summer riding instructor/assistant barn manager to join our established, active lesson program. This is a summer position starting June 2026 through the first week of September 2026.
Expectations include teaching a combination of private, group, and camp lessons to students of various ages and abilities on a wonderful selection of school horses, as well as assisting our barn manager in conjunction with our grooms. The candidate will also be responsible for attending horse shows over the course of the summer when needed.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching children and adults from beginning through intermediate levels and a thorough and working knowledge of horse care. Organizational skills are a must.
A confident, enthusiastic approach toward students to help foster the love of horses is a must. Applicants must be outgoing and work well with peers and other staff. We are a team-oriented, positive, and supportive work environment with competitive pay.
Benefits include a $1250/week salary plus housing. In addition, a $1,000.00 bonus will be paid upon completion of the contract term.
