Gateway HorseWorks is seeking a dedicated Equine Specialist to join our team. This flexible position can be structured as either full-time or part-time, depending on the needs of the organization and the availability of the right candidate.
The role combines co-facilitating mental health sessions with responsibility for supporting the care and well-being of our herd each week. The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality equine-assisted psychotherapeutic services while ensuring the safety and welfare of both horses and clients. Regular weekly hours for horse care and facilitation of sessions are required. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients and our herd through dedicated, compassionate work.
Qualifications include: • Demonstrated experience working with horses and a strong understanding of horse behavior and welfare. • Certification or training in the Eagala Model of equine-assisted psychotherapy is preferred, not required. • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse clients and team members. • Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Commitment to the mission and values of Gateway HorseWorks.
