Employment opportunity for someone with advanced horsemanship skills to handle foals from birth until they move to main barn to start under saddle.
No Mucking Stalls
➡️Providing post foaling care to both mare and foal. (No night shifts) Dipping navels, taking temperatures, giving Oxytocin shots, etc.,
➡️Administering medications (oral, IM, IV, and topical) applying wraps and keeping records up to date.
➡️Training new born foals- halter break, tie, pick up feet, lead, bath, etc.
➡️Handling foals and broodmares during weaning.
➡️Continued weekly handling and care of yearling and two year olds. Holding young stock for farrier and keeping farrier log up to date.
🕗8 hr per day /6 days per week. Extended hours only in the case of an emergency.
💲Pay is negotiable estimated $900/week via direct deposit.
Quality on site housing is included No indoor pet policy.
10 days vacation/year.

Coves Darden Farm is a large PRE breeding, training and sales facility located in Aiken county SC. We offer stud service to breeders around the world and produce an average of 20 foals per year which we train, and prepare for sale in Dressage. Our horses have competed successfully at the National Dressage Finals every year, at Devon and lamplight both in the young horse and developing Grand Prix as well as in Europe at the international level. We produce horses for competition and enjoyment.
