We are seeking a full-time groom to care for five show jumping horses competing at various levels. We compete year-round and travel to shows in multiple locations.
This is a six-day-a-week position with housing provided on site. Mondays are off. We have a ranch hand who maintains the property, so your primary responsibility is the horses.
The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and takes pride in doing the job right. You must be comfortable riding different types of horses and working with a variety of personalities.
Responsibilities include:
Daily care and management of five show jumping horses Riding and exercising horses as needed Body clipping, wrapping, and basic grooming care Cleaning and maintaining tack and equipment Preparing and managing feed programs Administering IV injections and basic treatments Coordinating and managing farrier, veterinarian, and therapy schedules Ensuring horses are prepared and cared for at home and at shows Cleaning stalls as needed Ability to do night checks when required
This position requires someone who can handle long days, problem-solve, and do what it takes to get the job done. Most importantly, you must genuinely care about the horses and treat them with kindness and respect.
Experience with competition barns is required.
