Fort Worth Horseshoe Club is seeking an experienced, reliable Barn Foreman to oversee the daily care operations of our boarding facility of 60+ horses in conjunction with the onsite Barn Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising the barn crew, ensuring consistent and high-quality horse care, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations. This is not a riding or training position – the focus is on equine care, staff supervision, and facility operations. Team Supervision & Management • Supervise a team of 4–6 barn staff • Create, assign, and oversee daily task lists and work schedules for staff • Train new employees on barn protocols, safety standards, and horse care practices • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to Barn Manager

Horse Care • Oversee and assist with feeding and watering horses • Turn horses out/in per daily schedule • Monitor horses for signs of illness, injury, or distress and report to the Barn Manager • Clean, strip, and re-bed stalls

Facility Operations • Maintain cleanliness and organization of barns, grounds and common spaces • Maintenance of grounds including mowing and weed eating when needed • Ensure feed, shavings, and supply inventory is monitored and communicated to Barn Manager for reordering • Uphold and enforce barn safety protocols

Member Relations • Communicate professionally and courteously with members • Relay member requests or concerns to Barn Manager as needed • Represent the farm in a positive, professional manner

Requirements

Requirements • Minimum of 2–3 years experience working in a large boarding barn setting • Hands-on horse care experience required (feeding, turnout, stall care, general handling) • Prior supervisory or team lead experience required • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and seasons • Physically able to perform barn labor, including lifting 50+ lbs, walking/standing for extended periods, and working around large animals in all weather conditions • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage a team with minimal oversight • Valid driver’s license preferred Applicants must provide documentation to legally work in the US and must be willing to undergo a background check.
