Our private facility housing rescued animals from abuse and abandonment. Position is paid weekly rate. We currently are open to full or part time, as well as farm sitting. There is a daily rate for when we travel that will be higher than typical. We have an optional room available to stay in for when owners are out of town. We do not offer on-site housing at this time. If you prove to be reliable we would consider allowing personal board of own horse in pasture as well as housing. Must love horses, dogs, cats and chickens. MUST SPEAK ENGLISH and pass a background check.

DUTIES: Feed horses 3x daily. Mucking 2 stalls/2 sheds and 1 paddock, grooming horses, handling horses for turnout/baths/farrier/vet, dragging paddocks/pasture, attending minor medical needs, must be able to recognize colic/other ailments. Blanketing & body clipping as needed. Maintain cleanliness of tack room and barn. Feeding/watering chickens/letting in and out. Letting dogs and cats out/feeding. Putting dogs and cats up end of day. Must have positive attitude and be physically and mentally tough for demanding work. Must be Trustworthy, reliable, respectful, polite and must love animals. Our animals are all from abuse so must have a gentle approach for handling. This job cares for 8 equines (4 drafts, 1 QH, 1 warmbloodX, 2 minis), 7 cats, 4 dogs.

Functioning & recording 24/7 security cameras on property entrance, in the barn, tack, paddocks, stalls and turnout areas for horse safety and making sure our horses are being properly cared for. Owners home has full camera & security measures.

Must love animals.

Property, horse facilities and maintenance areas are monitored by security camera that the homeowners check. Resume and verifiable References. Background check and horse experience. must be physically and mentally fit. Currently all work is done by 35 year old female homeowner. Must be available to tend to horses when owners are out of town. Honest and reliable. Please do not apply for this job if you easily quit or are unreliable. Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent required; • Minimum (2) year of experience in Equine care; Strong written and verbal communication skills, positive and sociable attitude, reliable, speak English and have a flexible schedule. Strong attention to detail and follows direction, strong love & patience for abused animals.

We have a locked room off our home that is furnished with a bathroom that will be available to use when we travel. It will remain locked off from the main house. This room will be for when we travel only, we will not entertain permanent onsite housing until someone has proven themselves to be trustworthy, capable and reliable.

Flexibility and ability to work in a small, private, quiet facility. Ability for position to be part or full time. Having a hand in rehabilitating our kill pen equines. We will not consider on property accommodation until someone has proven themselves to be qualified and reliable. On the same note we would consider allowing someone to keep a personal horse on pasture should they prove themselves to be a good fit.
