Beverly Equestrian is hiring a full-time Barn Manager to lead daily operations, supervise staff, oversee all aspects of horse care, and manage individualized rehab programs at our full-service hunter/jumper facility in The Plains, Virginia. This is a senior leadership role requiring hands-on expertise, exceptional organization, and proactive communication. The position is mandatory live-in or local only—applicants must reside onsite or within immediate response distance. Beverly is known for its exceptional client-first service and organization. We specialize in bringing new riders into the competitive show world, including juniors and adults, and offer a customer-forward approach rooted in compassion and professionalism. Our environment is drama-free, structured, and supportive of experiential learning. Our riders include training board clients, junior team equestrian athletes, and dedicated lesson participants. The Barn Manager plays a central role in maintaining barn operations and continuity year-round, with a critical additional responsibility: managing the seasonal transition to a separate Wellington, Florida facility each winter, while ensuring that the Virginia base continues to operate at full scale. This requires precise logistical coordination of horses, staff, supplies, vehicles, and barn routines across two locations, and the ability to lead from the ground with a focus on accountability and follow-through.
Requirements
Core responsibilities include organizing and administering feeding, turnout, blanketing, wound care, and rehab therapies for approximately 25 horses. You will maintain digital records and whiteboard calendars, supervise a team of grooms, assign daily tasks, and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient facility. You’ll also take ownership of horse therapies, special medication regimens, and communication with clients and care professionals. The role requires fluency in digital recordkeeping (Google Calendar, shared logs, team communication apps) and a working knowledge of farm equipment and vehicle operation. Applicants must have prior experience managing high-end equestrian facilities, strong leadership and delegation skills, and a calm, communicative presence with clients, vendors, and staff. A valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the U.S. are required.
