Small professional showjumping program is ready to hire a new team member. We are looking for a great riding individual with experience at A shows who wants to learn and grow your skills. We offer ride time and potential showing opportunities. Barn chores do come with the position but are shared with at least one other groom. We keep very reasonable hours, other than when a show schedule demands longer hours on specific days.
Based in the Virginia most of the year and wintering in Ocala, we show along the Eastern US and Michigan the balance of the year.
Requirements
Experience at the rated show level. Good basic flatting skills (videos will be required for consideration). Ability to take instruction and learn well. Young horse handling and management. Solid knowledge of horse care – grooming, bathing, lunging, identifying problems, wrapping legs, using ice boots, setting feed and giving supplements, and other routine care. Packing equipment for horse shows. Maintaining tack, equipment, feed and tack rooms, grooming stall, monitoring and order supplies and supplements as needed, and general barn organization. Clipping and braiding are not required but would definitely be helpful. Attention to detail and the desire to help build our program. Must be 18+ years old, have your own transportation and legal to work in the US.

Riding opportunity with potential for showing Housing and travel reimbursements and stipend A working student will receive a small stipend for living expenses. We will definitely consider training the right working student who can grow into a professional groom / rider. A rider / groom will receive a very competitive salary with paid time off. Salary is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
