Wage will depend on amount of experience and qualifications
Hours: 25 hours minimum, subject to change
Qualifications: Must hold appropriate qualifications in specialist vocational area, e.g. Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum.
A driver’s licence is essential and any other driving qualification, e.g. HGV/7.5t would be desirable but not essential.
Job Description Due to the success and increasing workload of our busy riding school and livery, we are looking for an experienced and qualified Senior Yard Assistant.
The successful candidate should be confident in handling a wide range of horses including experience with breaking in and riding fresh young horses.
You should be enthusiastic, hard working, committed and confident when dealing with the public and our customers. You must be able to work independently and take initiative.
Previous experience in yard management or extensive practice within a busy horse setting is required.
We are looking for someone with the ability to manage and motivate staff, and create a positive team environment.
You must be able to take charge of all yard management including; Farrier, vet, dentist, feed, bedding etc.
You must know have a good standard of knowledge in equine aliments and first aid. The care and upkeep of our horses is a priority.
Timekeeping is very important as we are a busy riding school with lots of lessons throughout the day.
Throughout the winter months we have a lot of horses stabled so being ahead of time during this period is also a key part of this role. I f you have drive and a passion for horses and are a confident rider and you can fulfil the requirements of this role, we would love to hear from you.

Family run riding school which is situated in the lovely Somerset countryside. We offer a range of riding from Group or Private lessons as well as hacking all year round. We currently have around 20 horses working in our riding school who work at a range of levels assiting the most novice of riders up to advanced riders.
