Looking to help set up a yard for disabled people. Seeking overall yard manager as I'm willing to help with the ground yard work, exercising, taking up etc. There is allot of negative press around disabled people working in general. My aim is to help run the yard and give disabled people like myself a chance. We can start of with a small yard and see where we go from there. I have just returned from Mauritius after managing /supervising one of the quarantine stations for nearly 6 months. From South Africa, Eqasa module 2 and almost done with level 3. Would love to improve my riding level and possibly compete, but not necessary. I love getting horses ready for shows and would love to travel with to shows. I will also consider working at a racing stable.

This job role is working on a busy Retirement livery reporting to the yard manager.
Day to day duties include general care of horses, mucking out, feeding, grooming, administering medications and medical care, exercising horses on rehabilitation programs as per vet instruction, dealing with farrier, vets, physiotherapists and clients in a polite and professional manner and maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate person preferably with experience of working within the equine industry; however we will consider candidates with extensive experience of caring for horses outside of the profession.
You should be happy to work within a structured environment, prepared to work efficiently with safety of both horse and Handler at the forefront of your mind, be able to work as part of a team but be able to use your own initiative and work alone when required, must be organised and be able to manage your own time, be conscious of your working environment and standards with attention to detail, must be confident handling a wide range of horses, will not be scared of hard work in adverse weather conditions and most importantly you MUST be passionate about horses.
Our horses range from miniature Shetlands to 18hh Clydesdales.
Although we are a retirement livery, our horses range from 8 years old to 38 years old and are of varied fitness and temperaments.
All the horses here at CRL are treated as individuals and their welfare is paramount.
